May Term 1836 Your orator, George Bishop and Stephen Allen adm. of William Allen, deceased on behalf of themselves. That a certain Rowland E. Bevans in his lifetime to wit: on 24 November 1814 became indebted to Stephen Purnell in the sum of $187.07. Letters of adm. of Rowland E. Bevans granted to Brittingham Bevans and Joshua Bevans. That Rowland E. Bevans left he following persons heirs in law: Brittingham Bevans, Joshua Bevans, William M. Bevans (who has since departed this life and left a daughter Sarah Ann and a daughter named Ann is heirs at law), John Bevans, Matthais Lindsey and Nancy his wife, Bersheba Bevans who has since intermarried with _______ Kenny / Kiring and survives her husband, James Truitt and Betsy his wife. His widow Leah Bevans who has since died. And also to a certain Rowland E. Bevans Jr. and Joshua Bevans, Jr. Several of the heirs did not reside in the State of Maryland. Rowland E. Bevans will: He is in a low and weak state of health. Rowland E. Bevans son of Joshua, Joshua Bevans son of Joshua, William Bevans my brother, Brittingham Bevans my brother, my land where John Bevans lives in Nassawattox. 21 Jan. 1817w. 31 Jan. 1817p. A Joshua Brittingham listed as a judgment against the administration of $115.63.

Bell
6 November 1835 That Benjamin T. Bell, under 21 years of age, of Worcester County, is seized of real estate in Somerset County to 1 undivided third part of BELLVIEW, and to one ninth undivided part of the residue of said tract and to 1 undivided twelfth part of a tract called DASHIED'S LOT. George McElhiney guardian. BELLVIEW belonged to Mrs. Anne Maria Bell, the mother of said Benjamin and the other children of Anna Maria Bell. Boyer & Duer
May Term 1837 Robert Duer of the Parish of West Louisiana of Louisiana that he is the uncle and guardian of Anne Maria Boyer, Sally Boyer, Harriett Boyer and James Boyer. That their mother Mary Boyer died seized of real estate. That James Duer formerly of Worcester County died seized of real estate. Francis A. Boyer and Mary, his wife, heirs at law: Anne Marie, Sally, Harriett and James Boyer.

Brown
14 November 1834 William Brown's father Andrew Brown departed this life on or about the first day of May 1815 with a will. Barsheba Brown, his wife. My son William. Son James. Daughter Nancy. That Barsheba Brown has departed this life and Nancy Brown has also departed this life, she having intermarried with a certain James G. Townsend and leaving the following children: Leven Henry Townsend and Elizabeth A. R. Townsend. Andrew Brown had grand daughter Effy Barly? Ieix or Jicx or Jacx (see original will for clarity). Will 12 June 1812.

Burnett
November Term 1836 That Elijah Burnett hath departed this life leaving a widow named Catherine and the following children: John, Margaret, Elizabeth, Sarah and Amanda, all minors.

Burroughs
13 November 1837 That Jesse Burroughs. Margaret the widow. That Margaret the widow intermarried with Garretson Gordy. That Jesse Burroughs left the following persons residing in this county as his heirs in law: Joshua Burroughs, Samuel Burroughs, Arthur Burroughs, Nancy who intermarried with a certain Johnson Gray, Ketty or Hetty Gray, Asher Gray, Martha Gray all over the age of 21 years, except Asher and Martha.

Christopher
November 1836 Mary Christopher and Amelia Christopher of Somerset County by Harriett Christopher their mother and next friend against Elijah Hastings of Sussex County, Delaware. That George Christopher the father of your complainants departed this life in Somerset County, Maryland sometime in the latter part of 1813 with a will. That this land in Worcester County to be sold and divided between his three children: Ebin / Eben, Mary and Amelia. That letters of adm. were granted to Tukman Christopher of Worcester County. HIGH RIDGE, HILLS SUPPLY, PARKER'S SUPPORT, 96 1/2 acres. That Tuckman made the sale but did not pay any of them, using the money for his own personal use. That Tuckman Christopher has since departed this life intestate. That Elijah Hasting has continued to occupy the land reaping the benefits that George Christopher left the following children: Eben, Mary, Amelia, Nancy, Samuel and William, that Mary and Amelia were minors at the time of their father's death and that now only Amelia is still a minor, and that Eben has sold all his right to the land. Will of George Christopher names son William, daughter Nancy, daughter Marah, son Eben, daughter Mary, daughter Amelia, son Samuel. 15 November 1813w. 3 December 1813p.

Corbin
May Term 1837 John Corbin deceased left the following children: William B. Corbin, Eleanor / Elendor who intermarried with Joshua Donohoe, both over twenty one, and John Corbin, Jr., James Corbin, Severn / Devern Corbin and Robert Corbin, minors.

Davis
November Term 1838 Henry White complainant. That Turner Davis died without a will leaving as his heirs at law: Betsy who intermarried with a certain Leven Disharoon, residing in Somerset County, and Eliza Prior and William A. Davis and Mary A. Davis residing in Worcester County. William and Mary are under 21 years of age. Richard Lemmons? adm. of Turner Davis.

Davis
2 May 1836 That Burton Davis departed this life intestate leaving no child or descendants of a child, but leaving the following persons his sisters and brother his heirs at law: Henrietta G. Davis over 21 years of age and Robert Davis and Eliza Ann Davis minors. Levi Duncan adm.

Dennis
May 1837 Term. Sarah Dennis mother and next friend of Pamelia Dennis, minor. Valentine Dennis devised to his daughter in law Sally. Sally's daughter Ann, who has intermarried with Robert Mills and is of full age, and Pamelia, minor. Valentine Dennis will: Son Henry, then to his son Albert. Daughter Polly. Son Littleton. Negro's Ben, Rachel and Rhoda free after the death of my wife. Other negros given to his children to be free at a later much later date. Will made 8 Feb. 1835.

Dereckson
31 October 1834 Littleton Townsend died intestate. James Dereckson granted adm. His children and heirs: William L. Townsend and Ann Maria Townsend who are minors.

Dickerson
November Term 1837 Henry Dickerson. A complaint of Thomas Fleming and Nathaniel Willer / Willis and Nancy his wife. Dickerson was indebted to Thomas and Nancy. Nancy Fleming intermarries with Nathaniel. Henry Dickerson died intestate his heirs: John, Levin, George, Samuel and Peter Dickerson all under 21 years of age. Parker Dickerson adm. of Henry.

Donoho
May Term 1838 Joshua Donoho hath departed this life leaving his widow and children: Eleanor the widow. Mary, Priscilla and Rosena, minors. John Corbin had wife Mary. That John Corbin died in the later part of 1832. That E. K. Wilson is also deceased. That Joshua Donoho departed this life sometime in 1834. That on 14 May 1838, Henry Dryden and Ellenor T. Dryden, his wife conveyed Eleanor Dryden's right of DOVER. David Odel guardian to the children Mary, Priscilla and Rosena. Eleanor Donoho now the wife of Henry Dryden.

Hooper
8 August 1836 That Thomas Hooper departed this life sometime during the year 1833. That Thomas left at the time of his death the following children: Polly who intermarried with Leven G. Irving, James Hooper, Thomas Hooper, John Hooper, Sarah Jane, Nelly and the following grand children: Sally Elizabeth Rock and Mary Ellen Rock children of a daughter named Mariah who intermarried with a certain Josiah Rock, who hath departed this life. Mrs. Sally Hooper the late wife of Thomas Hooper is in full life. That after the death of Thomas Hooper, Mariah Rock gave birth to another child. Thomas Hooper resided in Salisbury.

Hutchenson
27 July 1838 John Gunby, the uncle and next friend of Amelia Ann Hutchenson, John G. Hutchenson and Emeline Smith Hutchenson, children of Joseph Hutchenson, who reside in Baltimore.

Jones
7 Feb. 1836 That John Jones became the owner of Jones Adventure, Bachelor's Adventure, Good Luck and part of Pagan from a certain Giles Jones, bearing date 23 January 1827. That John Jones conveyed the whole to Mary Jones and Eliza Jones who has since intermarried with George Hardis, and William Jones, Sarah Anne Jones, Giles Jones, Margaret Jones, John M. Jones and George W. Jones children of the said Giles Jones the said deed bearing date 9 April 1831. That William Jones and wife have sold their right in the land to John O. Selby and that George Jones has departed this life intestate and without leaving issue prior to the said sale by William Jones. That the said Giles Jones, the father, departed this life on the 13 November 1831. That Sarah Anne Jones, Giles Jones, Margaret Jones and John M. Jones are all minors. That John Jones in consideration of his natural love and affection he has unto Molly, William, Eliza, Sarah A., Giles, Margaret, John M. and George W. Jones children of Giles Jones, Sr. except 50 acres John Jones sold to Isaac Jones. Nancy Jones wife of John Jones appears. 24 September 1835 between William Jones and Henrietta his wife and John O. Selby. George Bishop appointed to answer for the minors. That on 4 May 1837 Elizabeth Jones says she consents to the sale...and believes that her interest as the widow of Giles Jones she is entitled to the 2/3 part of the said land, her full dower right. Barnabey Taylor who has intermarried with Mary Jones one of the complainants. That George Jones has departed this life dying intestate, leaving no issue. That Giles Jones, the father had departed this life about 4 or 5 years ago. That George Hardis, the father and friend of Mary Elizabeth Hardis and Ann Elizabeth Hardis minor children and heirs at law of Eliza Hardis. Outten Selby, James Selby, Isaac Selby and Elizabeth Selby who are of full age, the children and heirs of John O. Selby one of the complainants and of Catherine Selby widow of John O. Selby respectfully suggest to your honor the death of Eliza Hardis sometime in the last of the year 1837 and that she left the following persons her legal representatives and heirs to wit: George Hardis, her husband, Mary Elizabeth Hardis and Ann Elizabeth Hardis, and also the death of John O. Selby intestate during the last term of court, and that he left the aforesaid Outten, James, Isaac and Elizabeth. Cathrine his widow.

McGregor
14 May 1836 William McGregor 17 February 1823w. Will says to sell land he held in the forest called Hog Quarter in Quango Hundred 138 acres and pay to the heirs of Jacob Dale deceased, 1/6 part of the purchase money, that 1/2 of the balance be applied to the education of his son William McGregor and the other 1/2 or residue to be divided between son John and his son James McGregor Dale (complainant) who is one of the children and heirs at law of said Jacob Dale deceased. That he appointed Thomas N. Williams and his son John McGregor EX's. That John McGregor renounced EX. That on the last of June 1827, Thomas N. Williams departed this life. That William McGregor left heirs at law: James, John, William who has since departed this life without leaving issue, Margaret who intermarried with Powell Pattey, Mary who intermarried with John Powell, Nancy who intermarried with George Parsons, Patty who intermarried with Levin H. Purnell and Elizabeth who intermarried with William Holland. Patty and Elizabeth over 21 years of age not residing in Maryland but in Tennessee. All the other children over 21 and residing in Worcester County, Md. That William McGregor had a pre-nuptial contract with his wife of no right of dower or third in my estate. That she should have none of my property nor I any of hers and I give up all her property at her request to hers sons. His sons William, John, James, daughters Betty Holland and Polly Purnell land in Wilson County, Tennessee. Peggy Pattey land on Herron Creek (McGregor's Purchase) her sons Kendall Pattey and John Pattey also Holly Grove, daughter Molly McGregor, daughter Nancy McGregor, wife Betsy McGregor all my right to the lands of her former husband Adam Bratten, deceased. Part of my lands where I dwell descended to my wife Mary by the death of her father James Dale who died intestate. 17 February 1823w. 8 March 1825p.

Parker
November Court 1837 Elisha Parker and Eleanor his wife. Elisha Parker departed this life sometime in 1832. Daughter Eliza appointed his EX. William Parker his son. Son Jacob, son George, daughters Elizabeth, Hetty, Eleanor, Polly, Sarah, Eliza. John Williams use of Elisha Parker and Eliza his wife Ex. of Elisha Parker. That Eliza Parker intermarried with a certain Elisha Parker. William Parker father of Elisha in account with Elisha P. Parker, Trustee.

Purnell
May Term 1838 That Thomas Purnell of William, has departed this life, by will he devised to a certain Sarah Beswick, Purnell Anderson and William Purnell. That Thomas Purnell had as his heirs at law: William T. Purnell, aforesaid, John P. Brinchlor, Elizabeth Polk wife of Charles Polk, Sarah Beswick / Besmick, aforesaid, wife of Brinckley / Brinkey Beswick, Eliza Ann Purnell, William John Purnell, Esther Elizabeth Purnell, Purnell Anderson, aforesaid, and William Gibbs all of whom reside out of the State of Maryland. Thomas Purnell will: To niece Sarah Beswick and my nephew Purnell Anderson, nephew William Purnell. Release from slavery negro Jacob, providing he make provisions for the maintenance of his father Allen who I release from Harvey Jacob to be free 2 years after my death. Release negro Littleton 2 years after my death provided he make provisions for his mother Rhoda. To James Bruff. To nephew Edward James Bruff (family pictures), To my niece Zipporah Sarah Horsey? Purnell Bruff. To my niece hetty Mary Bruff. Nephew William Thomas Purnell Bruff. To Sarah Bruff, wife of James Bruff. To nephew William T. Purnell. To nephew Purnell Anderson. Elizabeth Andasia Bruff. To my niece Sarah Beswick. To James Bruff's 6 children. 17 Jan. 1833w.

Zackus Bowen made the deceased coffin for $4.50 and to Covington & Purnell, muslin for the deceased's shroud $6.45.

Purnell
2 May 1836. Lemuel Purnell he devised on 7 June 1817 to his sister Catherine G. Purnell over 21 years, and Catherine has intermarried with Levin E. Parker of Virginia where Catherine resides and lives. Probate 14 November 1818.

Riggin
15 November 1836 James Riggin departed this life leaving his only heir Eliza Ann who intermarried with Levi Long.

Stevenson
November Term 1836 James Stevenson of Joseph died intestate his heir a child named Joseph. John M. Patterson adm. Several pages of an account of goods purchased at David Long's Company.

Tilghman & Hooper
November Term 1838 Noah Tilghman died in 1834 intestate leaving the following children, Oliver Wilson Tilghman, Elizabeth A., Littleton P., Leah Jane, Mary B., Daniel and Noah Tilghman. The complainant James Hooper had sons James Hooper, Jr. and John Hooper and perhaps more.

White
November Court 1837 Robert White hath departed this life, his heirs: Robert, James, Elizabeth intermarried with Uriah Tarr, Henry White, William White and Sarah White. James White resides out of the state of Maryland. Betty Nairne adm. of Robert White. To John Evans for making the deceased coffin $9. To John B. Blais / Blair and Mary E. Dorman for the support of an illegitimate child for the year 1832 for which support was bound $20, and again in 1833. Robert Nairne guardian to William and Sarah White.
